QUEL JOUR SOMMES-NOUS AUJOURD’HUI? QUEL TEMPS FAIT-IL AUJOURD’HUI?

In this section, you will first learn to find out what day, month and season it is. You will then learn how to talk about the weather.

When you want to find out what day it is, you can ask someone:

Quel jour sommes-nous?
(What day is it?)
Aujourd’hui c’est lundi.
(Today is Monday.)
Aujourd’hui c’est mardi
(Today is Tuesday.)

If you want to find out in what month someone’s birthday falls, you could ask:

Quand est votre anniversaire?
(When is your birthday?)
Mon anniversaire est en août.
(My birthday is in August.)
Mon anniversaire est en novembre.
(My birthday is in November.)

If you want to ask a friend which season is his or her favorite, you could ask:

Quelle est ta saison préférée?
(What is your favorite season?)
Ma saison préférée est le printemps.

When you want to find out what the weather is like, you can ask someone:

Il fait froid.
(It’s cold.)
Il fait chaud.
(It’s hot.)

If it is particularly hot or cold, a person might respond:

Il fait très froid.
(It’s very cold.)
